BPU17003: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (20-24 November)

<p>The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training program equips participants with the skills and knowledge to help facilitate and support an organisation's improvement program. This program follows on from Lean Six Sigma Foundations. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training provides the skills necessary to facilitate improvement projects successfully and deliver intended business results. The Green Belt program aims to equip individuals with the skills to:</p> <ul> <li>Assist in the identification of organisational changes required to maintain or accelerate peak performance</li> <li>Facilitate the implementation of such changes</li> <li>Develop a team of people to carry out these changes.</li> </ul> <h4><b>Who will benefit?</b></h4> <p>This training program is essential for: <ul><li>Companies undertaking an organisational improvement program <li>Individuals keen to upgrade their skills in Lean Six Sigma facilitation.</ul> <p><ul><b>Participants may be:</b> <ul><li>Project Managers leading improvement projects and programs <li>Employees who will act as a facilitator or coach for improvement activities <li>Individuals interested in developing a career in Business Improvement and Process Excellence.</ul></ul> <h4><b>Program topics</b></h4> <p>Specific content over the five days includes: <ul><li>Review of improvement methodologies, including DMAIC, UDTI, Learn Six Sigma and Design for Six Sigma <li>Fundamental concepts and principles of improvement, including Systems Thinking and Variation <li>Using DMAIC and UDTI Models for Improvement <li>Improvement Planning and Analytical tools <li>Statistical Process Control knowledge and skills <li>Facilitation skills and interventions <li>Communication skills <li>Leading a team to use specific analytical tools <li>Project commissioning <li>The roles of management in business improvement <li>The role of an Improvement Project Management Office <li>Roles and responsibilities of team members.</ul> <h4><p><b>Course outcomes:</b></h4> <p>This Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training program aims to facilitate participant skills and knowledge to: <ul><li>Reinforce and expand on understanding of the Improvement Process and associated methodologies, including the desired Framework for Improvement <li>Recognise how to best utilise improvement planning tools <li>Consolidate understanding of the concept of variation <li>Demonstrate effective use of fundamental analytical and problem-solving tools <li>Demonstrate abilities in fundamental statistical analysis <li>Identify and implement the conditions that enable the success of effective improvement projects <li>Distinguish between the roles and responsibilities of facilitators, team leaders and project sponsors <li>Develop individuals into deploying the above roles <li>Identify issues in team dynamics, team work and communication <li>Implement effective strategies to enhance teamwork capabilities and cohesion</ul> <h4><br><b>About the Presenters:</b></h4> <p><b>Alan Skinner</b> is a lecturer in the Masters Course on Business Excellence at UTS in the School of Management. A trained Six Sigma Black Belt, Alan has over twenty years experience in organisational improvement projects.</p> <p><b>Daniel Ionita</b> is a trained Six Sigma Black Belt with significant experience in facilitating improvement projects, particularly in IT companies, such as Digital Equipment Corporation and Compaq. <h4><p><br><b>Entry Requirements:</b><br/></h4> <p>Participants are recommended to have completed Six Sigma Foundations program elsewhere (also known as Six Sigma White Belt or Six Sigma Yellow Belt).</p> <p><b>Qualification/ Pathway:</b><br/> A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to all participants. Please note that this does not provide Green Belt certification which is a separate process.</p> <p>All participants will undertake a written skills Knowledge Assessment at the conclusion of the five days. Students who pass this assessment may elect to seek official Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification. <p>Upon completion of the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt program and Certification process, candidates may wish to continue with Six Sigma Training: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. <p>Lean Six Sigma Foundations is the second step in a progressive program of Lean Six Sigma training.
