Managers play a prominent part in managing the performance of people who report to them directly and in providing leadership to teams. <p> <p><b>Course 4: Operational Planning</b><br> <b>Unit of competency: </b> BSBMGT517 Manage Operational Plan<br><br> This course focuses on business planning and the active work of managers to plan, implement, monitor and record performance to achieve business plans of the team/organisation. Developing and implementing operational planning is vital to ensure that the objectives and strategies outlined in the business plan are met by work teams. <br></p> <p><b>Course 5: Project Management</b><br> <b>Unit of competency: </b> BSBPMG522 Undertake project work<br><br> This very practical course enables you to appreciate the fundamentals of project management and to identify the key actions that must be taken at each stage of a project to manage it in the most effective way to meet times lines, quality standards and budgetary limits set for any project. <br></p> <p><b>Course 6: Risk Management</b><br> <b>Unit of competency: </b> BSBRSK501 Manage risk<br><br> This course covers the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to manage risks in a range of contexts across an organisation or for a specific business unit or area. The course aligns with the AS/NZS 31000:2009 Risk Management standards.<br></p> <p><b>Course 7: Financial Management</b><br> <b>Unit of competency: </b> BSBFIM501 Manage budgets and financial plans<br><p> This course develops the skills required for financial management within a work team in an organisation. This includes planning and implementing financial management approaches, supporting team members, monitoring and controlling finances and reviewing and evaluating effectiveness of financial management processes in line with the financial objectives of the work team and the organisation.</p> <p><b>Course 8: Continuous Improvement</b><br> <b>Unit of competency: </b> BSBMGT516 Facilitate continuous improvement<br><br> This course is about continuous improvement and the active role of managers to manage continuous improvement processes in achieving the organisations quality objectives. You will be able to increase productivity in work areas in a planned and controlled way to influence the ongoing development of the organisation. <br></p> <p><b>Course 9 :Manage Meetings - Communicate with Influence</b><br> <b>Unit of competency: </b> BSBADM502 Manage Meetings and BSBLDR503 Communicate with influence<br><br> This course module develops the skills and knowledge required to manage a range of meetings including overseeing the meeting preparation processes, chairing meetings, organising the minutes and reporting meeting outcomes. Students will learn to present and negotiate persuasively, lead and participate in meetings and make presentations to customers, clients and others.<br></p> <p><b>Delivery Methodology</b><br> The delivery method will combine self-paced, face-to-face trainer led learner centred courses, formative assessment activities and learning activities involving small groups and the individual, experiential learning and workplace based projects. <br></p> <p><b>Assessment</b><br> Assessments will occur both during the course off-the-job and on-the-job through workplace-based projects enabling learners demonstrate competency against the nationally endorsed standards. <br></p> <p><b>Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)</b><br> All participants shall have access to and can apply for Recognition of Prior Learning on enrolment for all unit(s) of competency in this qualification.
