Accredited Outdoor Playground Inspectors Course: Operational inspection - Level 2

This three day course is aimed at those who are responsible for the operational (monthly to quarterly) inspections and those in a supervisory or maintenance role.

Attendees who complete this course will be eligible to take the UTS Level 2 Playground Inspectors accreditation for Operational Maintenance Inspectors.

What Will You Learn?

  • Child development
  • The importance of play
  • Accidents, their type, frequency and severity
  • Legislation, the appropriate Acts of Parliament and how they may affect the operator and the inspector
  • Provision recommendations for playgrounds, play value, Disability Assessment, etc.
  • AS/NZS 4486.1:1997, AS/NZS 4422:1996 and relevant sections of AS 4685:2004
  • Documentation, reporting and importance of record keeping
  • The incorporation of information resulting from routine and annual main inspections
  • A logical and systematic approach to inspecting including risk assessment
  • Operational inspection of approaches to playground including signs, traffic, road barriers, etc.
  • Operational inspection of the immediate playground surroundings such as the vegetation, fences and gates
  • Operational inspection of the active playground area within the fenced surround, i.e. seats, litter bins and other non play items
  • Operational inspection of specific play equipment or play features including surfacing
  • Common faults on popular items
  • Checking of maintenance and other playground actions taken
  • Practical on-site inspection.

JAVA EE

Advanced Java Programming teaches some of the foundation skills required for building medium to large scale web-based applications with a B2B e-commerce focus. This course introduces Java application servers, integration of data from multiple data sources and distribution of business logic in component-based applications. Multiple application-end delivery formats are considered including web browsers and WAP phones.

The objectives of the course are to teach the skills required to develop Java EE enterprise applications using the Java programming language. By course completion, students should have a comprehensive knowledge of the Java EE architecture. Students will have the ability to develop a medium-sized enterprise application using Java and the Java EE libraries.

People who are experienced Java programmers seeking to:

  • Gain an understanding of enterprise application architectures
